Three Day School Camp workout

Hi all. Having returned from school camp, my legs are aching in many places. We went uphill then downhill then uphill again. I found that carrying baskets of food uphill was more than I could comfortably do. But it was fun. As expected we had a full program so not a minute was lost. Last night my daughter and I couldn’t wait to go to sleep. I think a bike ride today would be a good change from walking. Happy exercising all.

Treadmill walk on cold day

Hi there. Yesterday was cold and wet so I got on the treadmill for 25 mins. I got bored with it and couldn’t take any more but I made myself stick it out for the 25.

I bought some fleecy lined track pants yesterday. I didn’t have any decent winter walking pants. Hope it helps me get outside more, although today is again wet and cold and have one daughter home with a bit of gastro. I just went outside to break up a cat fight. Our girl does not like the boy next door. If only they would stay in their own yards.

What have I been doing?

Well, yesterday I walked up the street to the bank. The sun was out so very nice. The day before I walked up the street and then got a phone call from the school saying to pick up one of my daughters who wasn’t feeling well. (She’s fine now.) So I turned around with my shopping trolley and walked straight home. I was going to do my groceries on the way home but obviously that didn’t happen.

Today is freezing! I’m planning to walk up the street to pay the paper account. These walks up the street are only 20 minutes in total. If I can keep them up over winter I will be pleased. If my exercise plan did one thing, it is to make me think of how I can fit some exercise in every day. At the moment it seems to be doing a job on foot. Well, it saves petrol too doesn’t it?

EVENING BIKE RIDE

Hi everyone. I went out at 5pm for a bike ride. It was warm and windless. There was still plenty of light and also lots of little bugs. There were also lots of people. It was one of the busiest times I’ve seen the walking/cycling track. I worked out that the bike ride is a 5km round trip from home and I do that in half an hour.  It sounds quite good – a 5k bike ride. That’s all I can manage anyhow. The light is quickly disappearing but I am thankful for the lovely temperature. I will try to soak it up as often as possible.

After my walk yesterday which was 2.5k, I was very stiff for the rest of the day. Serves me right for not doing more over the last 2 weeks.

Autumn Exercise

Hi everyone. Well after a week of some very unappealing weather, I know that the real challenge for me is keeping up exercise when winter hits. Being the school holidays has put a stop to my freedom of choosing what to do when, and coupled with the cold wet weather I have been rather slack.

Yesterday however was lovely. The kids and I walked to the movies. Then today I rode my bike while the girls scooted. We got quite hot. With no rain forecast we can expect more of this lovely weather and more activity!

What a walk!

Hi to anyone who is still reading.

This week I did a bike ride, mowed the lawn, walked to the supermarket and pulled my rather heavy trolley home, walked to the shops and this morning I walked the neighbour’s dog, dropped her back home then went on a 40 minute walk on the track by the river.  I do something each day, whether big or small. But I really had the urge to go on a good walk and today I did that. If I don’t do a solid walk every couple of days, my body seems to crave it. I feel good now. Hope you’re all enjoying this gorgeous autumn weather. Bye for now.
